This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application TranzEase (the “App”) and related services. Please read this policy carefully. By using TranzEase, you agree to the practices described herein.

1. Information We Collect

We collect limited personal data to provide, improve, and secure the translation service. The types of information include:

  • Account & Profile Data: If you create an account, we may collect your email address, name (optional), and profile picture if you sign in via third-party authentication (Apple, Google).
  • Translation Content: Text, voice recordings, images, or documents you submit for translation. Most processing is performed on-device; however, cloud-based features may temporarily transmit content to our secure servers. We do not permanently store translated content unless required for service improvements (anonymized).
  • Usage & Analytics: Anonymous usage data such as feature interactions, crash reports, and app performance metrics to improve reliability. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
  • Device Information: Device model, OS version, locale, and advertising ID (only with your consent) to optimize app functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for the following legitimate purposes:

  • To provide, personalize, and maintain translation features (voice, text, camera).
  • To improve accuracy of AI models through aggregated and de-identified feedback.
  • To communicate important updates, security alerts, and support messages.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
On-device privacy mode: TranzEase offers an optional “Local Mode” where all translation data remains on your device and never reaches our servers. This feature is designed for sensitive conversations and maximum privacy.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Limited sharing occurs only in the following scenarios:

  • Service Providers: Trusted third parties that help with cloud infrastructure (AWS, CDN), analytics (Firebase), and customer support tools. They are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental regulation to protect the rights, property, or safety of TranzEase, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before any such transfer and any change in control of your personal information.

4. International Data Transfers

As LambdaTech HK operates globally, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your jurisdiction. We ensure that appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and equivalent regulations.

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Account information is kept until you delete your account. Translation content processed in the cloud is automatically deleted after 30 days unless explicitly saved by you (e.g., favorites). Local-only translations never leave your device.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location (EEA, UK, California, etc.), you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access & Portability: Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal obligations).
  • Restrict Processing: Object to certain processing activities.
  • Opt-out of Marketing: You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time.

7. Children’s Privacy

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest, strict access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong authentication and keep your device updated.

9. Third-Party Links & Services

Our app may contain links to external websites or services (e.g., support articles). This privacy policy does not cover those third-party platforms. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies before interacting.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when changes were made. If we make material modifications, we will notify you via in-app notice or email (where possible). Continued use of TranzEase after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
